Behind the blog

How it all started

My love affair with skincare began not in a lab, but with my own skin struggles. As someone with persistently dry skin, I found myself diving deep into research papers, trying to understand why certain ingredients worked while others didn’t. What started as a personal quest to understand my skin became a mission to help others navigate the often confusing world of skincare with confidence and knowledge.

With an MSc in Pharmacology from Nottingham Trent University, UK, I bring over five years of beauty industry experience to the table. While I may not be a licensed esthetician, my pharmacological background gives me a unique perspective on how skincare ingredients interact with our skin at the molecular level.

FAQ

No, I’m not a licensed esthetician or dermatologist โ€“ I’m a pharmacologist with a MSc from Nottingham Trent University. My expertise lies in understanding how skincare ingredients work at the molecular level and translating complex research into practical skincare advice. Think of me as your science-savvy friend who loves diving deep into ingredient studies!

My skincare journey started with my own dry skin struggles! As a pharmacologist, I naturally turned to research to understand why certain products worked while others didn’t. After years of studying skincare ingredients and their mechanisms, combined with 5 years in the beauty industry, I realized I had a unique perspective that bridges scientific knowledge with real-world skincare solutions.

While I can’t provide personalized medical advice, I absolutely love educating people about ingredients and helping them understand what to look for based on their skin type and concerns. My approach is teaching you to become your own skincare detective โ€“ understanding your skin so you can make informed choices that work for your unique needs.

My pharmacology background gives me a unique lens for understanding skincare. While many bloggers focus on trends and personal experiences, I dive into the actual research behind why ingredients work. I believe in empowering people with knowledge rather than just telling them what to buy โ€“ because when you understand the science, you can adapt and make better choices for life, not just follow the latest fad.
